Assembly Grade 5B
Glimpses of History
India’s struggle for independence and the roles of many leaders who rose to the occasion cannot be forgotten. In a bid to keep these events alive in our minds, the students of 5B chose to present their assembly on important events that took place in India’s history. Varun and Sanjna were the master of ceremonies and steered the assembly confidently.
A tableau enactment of the Jalianwala Bagh Massacre by the students captivated the audience, followed by the News of the day.
Dandi March and the role of Mahatma Gandhi was performed by students, which did take one and all down memory lane. The act culminated with the class choir singing the popular bhajan ‘Raghupathi Raghav Raja Ram’, which was also one of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite songs.
Interesting facts were shared on scientific achievements of Free India. The audience was in for yet another treat with the class choir performing a famous song by the poet and freedom fighter Bharathiyar.
The role of soldiers, their sacrifices and contributions were also depicted. The students took the audience through the inception, achievements and role of the various branches of the Indian armed forces.
A speedy exhilarating round of questioning ended the programme on a high note.
