Assembly by Grade 5B (10 November, 2016)

The theme of the day’s assembly was “Save our Environment”.

Children assembled enthusiastically in the bright morning sun and heralded the start of the event with the ‘thought for the day’.

This was followed by the NEWS, where children highlighted the problem of fog in the national Capital New Delhi and Donald Trump’s surprise victory in the race to the office of President of U.S.A. While latest technological advancements in telecommunication was the dominant News from the field of Science, the start of the Test series between England and India was the pick in sports News. The News concluded with an update on the weather.vChildren then presented a thought provoking skit and a Tamil poem on environmental degradation. They followed it up in their colourful attire and put up an excellent show of well choreographed dance.

It was now the turn of the very talented singing sensations in the class to render the melodious Michael Jackson hit number ‘Heal the World’. All of this kept the assembly lively.

To conclude the events, it was time for some serious quizzing and the children responded spontaneously with many correct answers.

The assembly drew to a close with some inspiring words from Ms. Bhargavi and the vote of thanks by students thanking the Principal, the teachers, support staff and most importantly the people behind the day’s show.

This assembly was the right opportunity for children to showcase their innate talents and they made best use of it by coming up with a spirited display.
