Children's week

It was Children’s Week celebration at NPS International, Chennai from 10th of November to the 14th of November.

It began on a sunny Monday morning with Storytelling- Mime by Mr. Gautam and his team. Students were glued to the enactment that was on. It was a twist in the tale with the famous ‘Akbar-Birbal’ stories modified to suit today’s times.

Tuesday, Mr. Govindaswamy, the potter was a patient teacher to the 200 children who trooped in and out to watch the magic of clay turning into pots, lamps, plant-holders, decorative items. They did have a hand at making it but soon realised it wasn’t as easy as it looked.

Wednesday, was magic all the way. Mr. Raja was here to conduct a magic show. Ropes changing colours, swords being swallowed, eggs digested and whole again, kept the audience thrilled.

Thursday was a day off with the rains and Friday was packed with fun and action.

Students of grades 6, 7, 8 had their ‘Market Day’ on Friday, they spread their wares, on sale were, quilling earrings to pen stands; tea, chocolate balls to sandwiches. It was a merry day as brisk business was carried out.

Movies, music, games were all included in the day’s agenda. Finally the day culminated with the teachers’ putting up a truly grand show, starting with the Thillana moving on to skits, songs and dances, the day was choreographed to perfection for our children.

A memorable week for all of us.
