Tamil Day Celebration 2017-2018
Muthamizh Vizha, a celebration of Iyal, Isai and Natakam components of Tamil Literature is conducted every year, providing a treat for the intellect, eyes and ears. This year on the bright and pleasant morning of January 5th, 2018, students gathered to watch the special performances by the Tamil students of the Middle years from Grades 6 to 9.
The show, true to its name had the three elements of dance, music and play. Students attired as different characters from Tamil history and as literary giants rendering powerful dialogues on stage.
The music included thalatu, kondatam, thozhil, vilayatu padalgal. A rich repertoire of songs of different genres were rendered melodiously.
The dialogue between Lord Shiva and Dharma was not only entertaining but also powerful in conveying valuable messages for life.
The dance to the song ‘‘Thithimi Thimi’’ was indeed invigorating and a treat to the eyes.
It was a ‘Tamizh Vizha’ which will linger for long in our minds.
