12th Annual Sports Day 2025-26
The 12th Annual Sports Day of the school was celebrated with great enthusiasm and an abiding spirit of sportsmanship. The programme commenced with a solemn invocation, seeking divine blessings for the successful conduct of the event. This was followed by a spectacular march past by the four houses—Challengers, Explorers, Pioneers, and Voyagers—symbolising discipline, unity, and pride.
The March past was led smartly by the School Band, which displayed impeccable rhythm, harmony, and formation. Leading the contingent were the School Prefect carrying the School Flag, followed by the Vice School Prefect, the Sports Captain, and the Vice Sports Captain. The house captains and prefects rendered a crisp salute to the dignitaries, reflecting exemplary coordination and team spirit.
A significant highlight of the opening ceremony was the Ceremonial Torch Run, carried by student representatives who had competed at the national level. The torch symbolised determination, perseverance, excellence, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The Associate Principals, Ms. Ranjini Ayyar and Ms. Radhika Madhavan, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and presented the Annual Sports Meet Report, highlighting the school’s sporting accomplishments and the enthusiastic participation of students in various sports and games throughout the year.
The Chief Guest, Major Srikant Tiwari, addressed the gathering and inspired the young athletes to embrace sports as a powerful medium for building character, resilience, leadership, and teamwork. The Annual Sports Meet was formally declared open by the Chief Guest.
The cultural and drill displays added colour, energy, and vibrancy to the event. The students of Grades 1 and 2 presented a lively Cheer Drill with pom-poms, captivating the audience with their enthusiasm and synchronisation. Students of Grades 3 to 5 performed “Colours in Motion”, an elegant umbrella drill beautifully coordinated to music. This was followed by “Flex and Flow”, an elastic band drill by students of Grades 6 and 7, showcasing strength, balance, flexibility, and precision.
The track and field events generated great excitement and competitive spirit. Races ranging from 50-metre sprints and obstacle races to the challenging 600-metre run and relay races tested the speed, stamina, and teamwork of the participants. A special parent event added a touch of joy and amusement, as parents enthusiastically participated in a musical ball-passing activity, much to the delight of the audience.
The senior students of Grades 8 and 9 enthralled the spectators with “Together We Rise”, a powerful Human Pyramid display that demonstrated courage, cooperation, balance, and exceptional coordination.
The Individual Championship was awarded to the top-scoring athletes in recognition of their exceptional all-round performance during the Sports Meet. The March Past Trophy was proudly claimed by the Pioneers House. The Intramurals and Athletics Championships, along with the prestigious Overall Championship, were secured by the Voyagers House for their consistent performance, dedication, and exemplary team spirit.
This was followed by the Flag Handover Ceremony, conducted with great dignity, during which the House Flags were formally handed over by the House Captains to the Vice Captains, symbolising leadership, responsibility, and continuity of the house spirit.
The Sports Day concluded with a graceful Flag Retreat Ceremony, during which the School Flag was respectfully lowered and handed over to the Associate Principals, marking the formal closure of the Annual Sports Meet.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, delivered by the School Prefect, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, teachers, parents, students, and all those who contributed to the grand success of the event.
