Investiture Ceremony 2025
“A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a moulder of consensus.” Echoing this vision, NPS International, Chennai held its Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 on the 27th of June 2025 with great enthusiasm and solemnity.
The ceremony marked the official induction of the newly elected Prefectorial Body, including the School Prefect and Vice-Prefect, House Captains and Vice-Captains, Sports Leaders, and Club Heads. It was a proud moment that celebrated not just the recognition of potential, but also the school’s trust in these young leaders to shoulder responsibility and uphold its values.
The programme was honoured by the presence of Commander V. Ganesan, from the Headquarters of the Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Also present were the school’s Administrator Ms. Lalitha Das, and Associate Principals Ms. Ranjani Ayyar and Ms. Radhika Madhavan, who added stature and significance to the event.
A serene start to the proceedings was set by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a soulful invocation of the Medha Suktam, offered by the students, invoking wisdom and divine guidance for the student leaders.
In her warm welcome address, Ms. Radhika Madhavan emphasized the importance of nurturing leadership skills early in life and encouraged the students to lead with both responsibility and compassion.
The much-awaited presentation of badges commenced with the announcement of the School Prefect Gauri Raghunath (Grade 12) and Vice-Prefect Avanish Madhavan (Grade 11). This was followed by the conferring of badges to the Sports Captains, House Leaders, and Club Presidents and Secretaries, each honoured by the dignitaries amidst loud cheers from their respective houses and clubs.
Commander Ganesan, in his address, extolled the virtues of integrity, resilience, and purpose in leadership. He spoke of the transformative power of leading by example and urged the students to inspire change through action and service.
The event was further enriched by a powerful Shiva Tandavam performance by students of Grades 6 to 9 — a dynamic and symbolic representation of strength, rhythm, and balance. Ms. Ranjani Ayyar addressed the gathering, shedding light on the essential qualities that distinguish true leaders. She spoke about the importance of vision, accountability, collaboration, and empathy, encouraging the newly elected leaders to stay grounded while leading with confidence. Her words served as a timely reminder that leadership is not a position, but a mindset cultivated through dedication and consistency.
The school also acknowledged the Magazine Team for the year, comprising twelve enthusiastic students from Grades 9 and 10, entrusted with curating the school’s print and digital publications — a key platform for student voice and creativity.
In her maiden address as Prefect, Gauri Raghunath eloquently expressed her gratitude to the school and her mentors for their trust and encouragement. She pledged to lead with sincerity, empathy, and unwavering commitment to the school community.
The Investiture Ceremony 2025–26 stood as a proud celebration of leadership, responsibility, and the unwavering spirit of NPS International, a moment etched in the memories of all who witnessed it.
