The Parent Orientation Programme for Grades 1 and 2 was successfully conducted, marking the beginning of a strong partnership between the school and parents to support every child's holistic development.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by an introduction to the Founder, the Management, and the school's vision and values. The Principal addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of a strong home-school partnership and the role of consistent routines in fostering children's independence, discipline, confidence, and emotional well-being. She also highlighted the benefits of regular physical activity in enhancing focus, motivation, and learning readiness.
The Academic Coordinators presented an overview of the curriculum, assessment practices, experiential learning opportunities, Beyond Books initiatives, and the school's signature programmes, including the Reading Programme, Holistic Resource Programme (HRP), and Co-Curricular Clubs (CCC).
During classroom sessions, Coordinators, Class Teachers, Language Teachers, and Co-scholastic Facilitators familiarised parents with classroom expectations, school routines, assessment practices, and strategies to support independent learning at home. Interactive case-study discussions encouraged parents to explore practical approaches to children's social and emotional development.
A special highlight was the immersive Music, Dance, and Yoga sessions, where parents experienced the school's vibrant co-scholastic learning environment. The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, strengthening the home-school partnership and laying a strong foundation for a successful academic year.
Grades 3-5
The Parent Orientation Programme for Grades 3 to 5 was successfully conducted to strengthen the partnership between home and school and familiarise parents with the academic and co-scholastic framework for the new academic year.
The programme began with an auditorium session introducing parents to the vision, mission, and legacy of the NPS Group of Institutions. Mrs. Radhika Madhavan, Associate Principal – Early Years and Primary Years, addressed the gathering, highlighting the school's academic achievements and emphasising positive parenting, healthy routines, and nurturing children in the digital age.
Middle Leaders presented the curriculum, assessment practices, school routines, communication channels, and key programmes, including the Home Reading Programme, Speak and Shine, STEAM, Life Skills, Quiz Quest, Enrichment Haven, Language Enhancement Programme, and Extra-Curricular Activities. An interactive Q&A session allowed parents to clarify their queries.
During the classroom sessions, teachers explained subject expectations, Weekly Planners, homework, assessments, Microsoft Teams, the Parent Portal, and support systems for new students. Parents also participated in collaborative case-study discussions and a Gallery Walk, encouraging the exchange of ideas and practical parenting strategies.
A special session on the five "happy chemicals" highlighted the importance of reading, family time, physical activity, adequate sleep, and reduced screen time in promoting children's well-being. The programme concluded with a feedback session, leaving parents informed, reassured, and confident about the year ahead.
