Assembly Grade 8D, 2024-2025
The Grade 8D students conducted an informative and engaging assembly on the topic of “Click Bait” and its link to procrastination. This insightful session aimed to raise awareness on cyber security among their peers, discussing how easily misleading content can lead to wasted time and lost productivity. In addition, they addressed the causes and effects of procrastination and offered practical solutions to help students overcome it.
The assembly opened with a clear and comprehensive definition of procrastination, elaborating on how it can negatively impact individual performance, academic success, and overall well-being. The students explored the many reasons why people tend to procrastinate, including a lack of motivation, fear of failure, a tendency to perfectionism, and poor time management skills. They also highlighted the negative impact procrastination has on mental health, such as increased stress, anxiety, and the frustration that comes with missed deadlines and unfulfilled goals.
In the second part of the assembly, the students shared a variety of helpful strategies to combat procrastination. These practical tips included setting specific, achievable goals, breaking large tasks into manageable steps, creating a consistent study schedule, and staying mindful of common distractions like social media. They emphasized the importance of self-discipline, practicing good habits, and seeking support from teachers, friends, or family when challenges arise.
The assembly concluded with a motivational message encouraging students to take small, consistent steps toward managing their time effectively and avoiding the pitfalls of procrastination.
