Assembly: Grade 12
Topic: Global Citizen
School assemblies are key to the mornings at NPSI. It takes planning, co-ordination, teamwork and synergy and students work hard to make it happen.
The first assembly for the academic year was presented by Grade 12 on the topic Global Citizen. Every student exhibited their dynamism by doubling up and playing multiple roles. After a melodious invocation with the Carnatic composition Sudhamayi Sudhanithe, a quote by former UN Attorney General Kofi Annan was shared.
To explain the term ‘Global Citizen’, a speech was presented which also gave examples of youngsters who are symbols of global citizenship to encourage and motivate the students.
Skits offer a visual medium to convey a message. The students presented a skit on what global citizens do. Donning several characters like Leonardo Di Caprio, Malala Yousafzai and Meghan Markle (played by Soujata) to name a few, they conveyed the message using channel surfing.
An interesting quiz was conducted with questions on global issues like animal conservation, climate change and gender equality. The audience actively participated and enjoyed the quiz.
The assembly ended with a vote of thanks.
