Favourite Character - Dress-up Event
“Characters are the life of any good book” - Craig Hart
November 2020 began with Early Learning rejoicing their love for their favourite characters from a book/story/rhyme. Children reflected on their favourite character and chose one that they wanted to identify with. This event was packed with learning, an exposure to various characters and an expression of interest.
Our little ones expressed it through a dress up event by sharing photos. Striking poses for photos with props and costumes, they took us on a journey into fantasy land. All these photos were sorted, selected and uploaded in the e-magazine.
From Cinderella, Pinocchio and Aladdin to Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and Hungry Caterpillar, their colourful costumes and creative props added to the gaiety. Girls came dressed as princesses and boys became police officers/traffic regulators or superheroes to fight the “bad guys”.
This activity was fun and excellent for children as it sparked their imagination and made them think more. It stimulated creativity in parents when they had to mix-and-match whatever items they could find at home to make their children’s costumes and props. Kudos to all the children and parents for their enthusiastic participation in the dress up event.
