Grade 12 - Leadership Training Programme at NALS Leopard Valley, Coonoor - November 2025
The students of Grade 12 participated in a three-day Leadership Training Programme at NALS Leopard Valley, Coonoor, from November 27 to 29. The programme aimed to develop leadership qualities, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through experiential learning in a natural setting.
On arrival, the students were welcomed with a nutritious breakfast and given an orientation about the camp and its expectations. The first day began with an engaging rope course that introduced them to physical and mental challenges, followed by an evening trek that allowed them to experience the cool mountain climate of Coonoor.
Over the next two days, students participated in a variety of adventure activities such as long treks, rock climbing, rappelling, and ziplining. Team-based problem-solving tasks encouraged effective communication, cooperation, and strategic thinking. A guided night walk in complete darkness helped students build trust, confidence, and alertness. Informative sessions conducted by the Camp Director on healthy living, financial discipline, and the ill effects of substance abuse added great value to the programme.
The serene surroundings, simple living conditions, and wholesome meals promoted self-discipline and reflection. Overall, the programme was a challenging yet rewarding experience that strengthened leadership skills and teamwork.
