Grade 3 Field Trip
Chennai Equitation Centre
In an age where we are living in an urban jungle, it is always nice to step out and be one with the greenery and environment. Students of Grade 3 set off on their field trip to Chennai Equitation Centre or CEC, a horse riding centre with immense joy and excitement.
The CEC is located on a lush green campus in Sholinganallur on OMR. Formerly known as Chennai Equestrian Academy, it is a trust established by Kishore Futnani in 2010.
The bus journey was lively and energetic with children clapping hands and singing different songs cheerfully. On reaching the place, they were thrilled to see the lush green patch in the middle of the city.
Students were assigned a guide to take them around the stable and the campus. They observed checked breeds of horses, ponies and race horses. They were thrilled to see horses from Germany and England. They saw the dressage arena, lunging arena and jumping arena where the horses do their training.
The guide explained about breeding habits and training sessions of the horses. He also showed the numerous medals received by the CEC for winning national and international competitions.
It was a new, fun filled and informative experience for our students.
