Investiture Ceremony, 2017
The investiture ceremony marks a significant beginning of the new academic year. To inculcate the leadership qualities and to give the students a feel of leadership and a sense of responsibility, the new prefect body is formed every year. This year the mantle of leadership was given to the students on June 23rd.
To celebrate this occasion, along with the Principal Mrs. Sudha Balan and the Administrator, Mrs. Lalitha Das, we had Ms. Satya Sriram as our chief guest. Ms. Satya is an ex NPSI student, who after completing her 10th at NPSI Indiranagar, Bangalore, went for higher studies to Singapore and thereafter to the US. She completed her PhD from John Hopkins University. At present, she works for the Hindu group where she heads the Strategy and Marketing division.
The programme started with the invocation song and the principal welcomed the chief guest.
Ms. Satya conferred the badges. Hariharan Venkat of grade 11 was chosen as the School prefect, with Ananth Venkatesh of Grade 10 as the vice prefect and V. Harine of Grade 11 as the sports captain.

The foot tapping number by the students of grade 8 and the song by the grade 9 students were apt and added colour to the occasion.
The young leaders took an oath to carry out the responsibilities well. The chief guest, in her speech, reminisced about her days as as office bearer at NPS. She congratulated the newly appointed student council and reminded them to diligently shoulder responsibilities that lay ahead with dedication and devotion.
The school prefect Hariharan V, in his speech, said that it had always been his wish to be a prefect of this school and was very happy that his wish had been fulfilled. He promised to fulfil his responsibilities and lead the school diligently to the best of his abilities. He also motivated the youngsters in the audience to have the dream of leading the school in the future.
The investiture ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Bhargavi.
