Madras Day
We celebrated our city, Chennai with two special programmes for Madras Day. Ms Shalini Ravikumar, conservation architect engaged in a fireside chat with our senior students on heritage, sustainable conservation and the likes.
From talking about her love for history and monuments at an early age to her work in the area of book conservation, Ms Shalini’s words aroused the curiosity of our children. Our senior students asked her relevant questions on the current state of heritage buildings, role of the publis and a career in this space.
The chat was a memorable one, leaving the audience with thoughts on their role in preserving heritage.
Dr Mrs Chitra Srikanth and Mr RSR Srikanth presented a tailor-made concert with Tamil Nadu based songs in a scintillating evening. Delivering a traditional concert from their homes to the comfort of the attendees’ homes, it was a unique experience to be part of a virtual concert. From the Thiruppavazhai to the Thalattu and even film songs, the duo gave a range of performances that had the audience raptly listening.
Both events were a grand success with over 600 attendees.
