Plunge, 2017
Friday the 28th of July NPS International, Chennai opened its doors to the various schools in the area,the occasion -PLUNGE 2017.
This annual extravaganza was graced by the presence of our Director, TISB and Chairperson, Dr. Bindu Hari, our CEO, Mr. Hari Krishnan, Ms. Caroline Louis, Head of NPS Quality Assurance, our Administrator Mrs. Lalitha Das and our Principal, Mrs Sudha Balan.
The day began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty and the symbolic lighting of the lamp.
The encouraging and wise words of the Chairperson Dr. Bindu Hari set the wheels of the competition into motion.
The participants with their battle strategies in place were eager to match their wits in the Math, Science and Literary competitions.
The Lab Wiz competitors, gathered at the Physics lab, were challenged by the construction and working of an ornithopter (mechanical bird). The competition, which lasted 2 hours also included a written quiz. The results were declared in the afternoon. The PSBB, Siruseri School won the first place while the Grove School and PSBB Millenium, OMR were adjudged the first and the second runners-up respectively.
The Math – o – Magic competition required the participant students to puzzle their way out and identify the Mathematician in just an hour. NPS, Gopalapuram emerged winners with PSBB, Siruseri and Hiranandani Upscale School securing the 2nd and the 3rd positions.
Literary events included a poetry writing competition and declamation.
The poetry writing contest required the students to write a short poem on any one of the three topics – Homework, Math or My School life. The poem written by a participant of C.L. Mehta Sishya OMR was adjudged the best while poems written by participants of PSBB Millenium, OMR and participants of PSBB, Siruseri were awarded the second and the third places.
“My Country, My Life” was the topic handed out for the Declamation contest. A contestant of Good Earth School was declared the best, while, PSBB Siruseri and BVM Global School were declared the winners.
The over-all PLUNGE winners of the 2017 battles were the participants of PSBB, Siruseri School. Dr Bindu Hari congratulated the winners and all the participants while distributing the prizes.
Prior to the prize distribution was a musical show ‘Requiem’ performed by students of Grade 11, that kept the audience and the visitors entertained.
A successful completion of an event of this magnitude brought to fore the organizing skills of our teachers and students.
The eventful day was brought to a conclusion with the vote of thanks presented by the vice Prefect of the School.
