Plunge 2018
“The real secret of success is enthusiasm”, said Walter Chrysler. The annual Interschool competition Plunge, held on the 20th of July, was indeed a success with over 70 participants from 9 schools. The eager participants were keen to prove their scientific, mathematical and literary skills in the competitions.
Lab Wiz tested the participants’ understanding of the electric field through the construction of a violin generator from the given material and complete a Science – based quiz within the stipulated time of 1 hour. The Math – o - Magic challenge required the participants to carry out two tasks – use geometrical principles to display 16 different shapes from a given rectangular strip of paper and solve a puzzle sheet within the shortest possible time. The Speech Craft category saw participants debating on the topic – “Competitions are a necessary part of the education process”. The debaters were quite vociferous as they put forth their opinions both in favour and against the same. The students’ creative and writing skills were on test as they explained the different ways in which “Social Media has an impact on daily life”.
