YEP Market Day 2023-2024
6th January 2024, a day to be marked in the annals of NPSIC. Market Day was held as the culmination of The Young Entrepreneurship Programme for the year 2023-24 on this day where students of grade 8 presented their products and sold them in a live market.
Brainstorming for the event began early in July, with the students grouping together and creating a prototype. Once finalized, they made their visual presentations of their plans for marketing their products to their venture capitalists, their parents. Receiving a positive response, the entrepreneurs requested for an investment in their innovations, succeeding.
The rising enterprisers stepped into production day with enthusiasm, and despite the following downpour, they succeeded in completing their products which included keychains, pen stands, crochet work, oil diffusers and artificial trees among others.
On Market Day, the young business-magnets sold their products to eager parents and students. Students made emphatic appeals to visitors to buy their products and in no time, all 18 stalls were sold out, resulting in smiling faces and lighter pockets.
The groups collectively made a whopping profit of Rs 42,248, highest ever made till date. The money invested by the parents was returned, and the resulting profit was donated to ‘Faces’, a charitable organisation dedicated to helping the needy.
Members of the School Press Club and podcast, Voice of NPSIC were seen actively chatting with parents, taking their feedback and collecting bites.
The event left the students and teachers with a memorable experience, and the students were able to understand the story behind every business.
