Grade 1 fieldtrip - Birla Planetarium, Chennai

Students of Grade 1 visited the Birla Planetarium, one of the most prominent centres for Astronomy and Space Science Education in Chennai. The field trip aimed to give students a deeper understanding of the universe, its stars, planets, and other celestial bodies through an interactive and an educational experience.

The planetarium had a variety of shows that entertained our students and educated them. They watched a show about the solar system and also visited the exhibits. Models of rockets, satellites, and space stations helped us understand how scientists work in space. The children also watched a fun and exciting 3D show about dinosaurs!

The trip was highly educational and left a lasting impression on all of us. Some of the main takeaways included:

• Understanding the basic concepts of astronomy, such as the solar system, stars, and constellations.
• Gaining insights into the vastness of the universe and how space missions have helped us learn more about our galaxy.

Overall, the visit was a visual treat for the kids which will definitely help them in retaining the concepts taught about the Solar System.
