Grade 3 fieldtrip - Semmozhi Poonga & Kalaignar Poonga
The students of Grade 3 enjoyed an enriching field trip to Semmozhi Poonga and Kalaignar Poonga, on 29th September accompanied by their teachers. This was organized to provide the students an opportunity to explore and appreciate nature, understand the importance of biodiversity, and experience the role of eco-parks in promoting environmental awareness.
At Semmozhi Poonga, they explored a wide variety of plants, trees, and flowers. The botanical garden setting allowed them to learn about rare and medicinal plants. The themed landscapes were of particular interest to the children, who were eager to ask questions and make observations.
Kalaignar Poonga, provided the children with open spaces to relax and interact. The students learned about the importance of greenery in urban areas and how such parks contribute to maintaining ecological balance.
The joy of riding with their friends, eating under a tree shade with peers from other sections, and watching the second longest beach on the return journey only enhanced the experience making it truly memorable beyond the humidity and tiredness.
The field trip was highly beneficial for the students. It was both educational and enjoyable, providing experiential learning beyond textbooks. The children returned with greater awareness of environmental care and the joy of spending time in natural surroundings.
