School assemblies are key to the mornings at NPSI. It helps students to develop a feeling of unity among their classmates and teacher. School being the foundation of a student’s life, class assemblies help them gather energy and be at their best during the day. Assemblies have the potential to nurture and maintain a positive, healthy school culture.
Students of Grade 3A presented their class assembly on the topic ‘Our State – Tamil Nadu’. The programme began with a skit where two tourists visit Tamil Nadu, played by the MCS. After sharing some information about the state, a thought from the Thirukural written by Thiruvalluvar highlighted the importance of being kind and help each other.
The news anchors gave us the news from across the world in a lucid and comprehensive manner, keeping us abreast of the happenings around us.
A heartwarming melody on ‘Sentamil nadinum’, depicted the rich culture and tradition of Tamil Nadu was followed by the popular song ‘Chancey illa’, which exhorted the city of Chennai. The vocals were aptly supported by instrumentalists on the drums, guitar and keyboard.
To explain the day’s theme to the audience, students shared different facts about Tamil Nadu’s history, attire, food, festivals, monuments and some famous personalities such as Avvaiyar and Thiruvalluvar.
Dance is always a treat to the eye. A group of students danced to a song from the movie Lakshmi which showed the different dance forms of Tamil Nadu.
The quiz on facts related to the state saw the students participate actively.
The vote of thanks signalled the end of the assembly.
