Plunge 2024-2025
Plunge 2024-25 at NPS International, Chennai (NPSIC) was a vibrant inter-school event organized by the students. Participants from various schools showcased their knowledge, creativity, and skills through numerous competitions designed to challenge and inspire.
Science Adventure Design Challenge, designed for the students from Grades 6 to 8, involved teams constructing a miniature self-propelled car using provided materials within a time limit. This event tested both scientific understanding and dexterity. Every team was deeply involved in scanning through the instructions to build their car, putting each part together. They all enjoyed watching each other’s demonstration as it was sheer delight to watch the cars propel on their own. NPS Gopalapuram won first place, with Navadisha Montessori and Sishya OMR securing second and third positions.
This was followed by an engaging Science and Technology Quiz, conducted by alumnus quiz master Surya V supported by grade 12 students. The first round focused on science in daily life, the second was an audio-visual round, the third was titled Myth or Fact, where students identified the truthfulness of statements, and the final round was a rapid-fire session with six questions plus one bonus question, all to be answered within one minute. All in all, the quiz was an engaging one, sparking curiosity, challenging minds, and blending fun with learning. With a mix of visuals, experiments and succinct explanations from the quiz masters, it made science accessible, exciting, and memorable for all ages. NPS Gopalapuram bagged the first place followed by APL Global and Sishya OMR.
Mock Stock was organized by Grade 10 students. This simulation of a Stock Exchange allowed participants to trade with virtual money, aiming to maximize their profits. The event was marked by energetic and adept trading. NPS Gopalapuram emerged victorious, followed by PSBB Millennium School OMR and Sishya OMR in second and third places, respectively.
The closing ceremony saw the announcement of results which were met with great cheer. NPS Gopalapuram bag the rolling trophy. The event ended with the principal’s speech who extolled the value of sportsmanship and the importance of carrying the experience rather than the result.
As it is every year, Plunge 24-25 offered new challenges for students to uncover. It helped them pushed boundaries and discover new areas of learning. For the students of NPSIC, it was yet another learning experience – from ideation to planning and execution. Kudos to the students involved!
